***THIS IS A PRIVATE, INVITE ONLY EVENT!***
LemmonAvalanche… Come stare into the face of death if you dare, alongside hundreds of top racers from all over the globe. Do you have what it takes to hoist the championship trophy? Who knows what you’ll discover? Maybe gold. Maybe one of the racers we lost last year.
This year’s edition of the most prestigious mass start marathon descent in the U.S. will be Saturday April 2nd. Same course = Aspen Draw, Red Ridge, Canada Del Oro, Charleau Gap, 50 yr trail. Come try your hand against reigning champ Juan Del Castillo and former champ Jordan Reece as well as challengers from all over the world. Race is rain or shine or snow and starts at 10 AM. Hit up Jordan Reece if you need a strava file of the course. As always no paperwork or entry fee.
As always, this is a self supported event that will take riders down the North side of Mt Lemmon on Red Ridge trail, which is BFE and requires riders to be self sufficient, NO RIDERS ARE ALLOWED TO GET HURT or have catastrophic mecanical failures that would require extraction by anyone other than fellow riders. Please bring enough food, water, spares, signal mirror, thermal blanket, first aid and whatever else you put in your pack for BFE riding, Fast times for the course are under 2 hours and slow pokes will take 4+ hours. Please plan accordingly.
For a shuttle from Golder Ranch Rd/50 Year TH Parking Area at 8am, arriving to the top of Aspen Draw (start of the race), register below:
